Super old Memorial-era demo, from around 2008/2009. A distant memory of haunted, claustrophobic vibes. The ambient noise elements eventually found a home in the Memorial track “Descent”.
i try to swim in your bed
the depths are dark and tight and lonely
i struggle to see the sunlight
marking the path of evacuation
(losing signal from station to station)
i lost something here
and i will never get it back
and as the sun’s light slowly receeds
a blur now, hanging over me
i see underneath it all
beneath these sheets
an image of the clean
sinking and sinking…
“I: The Weapon” is the first single from Cult Of Luna’s new album “Vertikal” to be released January 29th worldwide excluding North America and Janaury 25th in Germany and Austria on Indie Recordings.
these are the final moments of our last days
released and cease beating yourself into submission
with poisoned blood the demon speaks
see how the wolves devour the weak
they will not inherit
eyes closed but forced open, bodies shaken awake
inhale and cease beating yourself into submission
no one holds us accounted
Listen/purchase: Memory Game by Android Lust
in the beginning
there was only you
i’m trying to remember
words still ringing true
just like the last time
you sought to undermine
you sought control
and meant gains for you alone
but it’s another day
and you’re a different man
seems my memory has stalled
words mean nothing at all
so i say let it stay however it may
i don’t see reasonably how i could be
here for another day
My bootleg cover of Xiu Xiu’s Bunny Gamer (B).
This contains both Gameboy and Sega Genesis in it. It was a lot of fun to work with but also a challenge; I recorded some Genesis gameplay and once I had that it was kind of difficult to build the song around it, but I am pleased with the result… though I feel I could have done the vocals better I decided to keep them there as they are more honest this way.
And that’s what I love about Xiu Xiu: brutal honesty. Shameless shame. Sit down, bunny gamer.
Please listen loudly. Very, very loudly.
Instrumentally done with one new track. Lots of glitch and synth modulation. A comrade says it sounds like Sega Genesis final boss music, and I’m totally down with this.
